Today was the day we registered!

My class schedule is as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday:

8AM-10AM: Modern Technique Level 4 with Paul Matteson
10:15AM-12:15PM: African Technique with Sherone Price

12:30PM-1:15PM: Break

1:30PM-3:30PM: Repertory with Ming Yang for the first 3 weeks/ Mark Dendy for the second three weeks

Wednesdays, Friday Nights, Saturdays, and Sundays are elective days where we have a continually altering schedule. We can take a range of classes from Pilates, Yoga, Samba, Gyrokinesis, Modern, Master Classes, Hip Hop, etc. They are on a drop in basis. There are also auditions being held by a few companies for projects and other works being held.

I am very pleased with my schedule and I am hoping that I enjoy my classes as much as I am anticipating I will! But to be fair, so far I have enjoyed every class I have had here at ADF so far- even with the classes being preview classes. I am excited to finally normalize my schedule and begin taking classes on a more routine basis.

Today we didn't do much other than go to advising, and register for our classes, but tonight we also had the opportunity to see Keigwin and Company perform at the Reynolds Theatre.

They were a pretty bad-ass company. I enjoyed the performance...particularly a lot more than the last show I saw, Stephen Petronio...gah!
Keigwin's company had a lot of interesting dances and they all had a very unique individual style to them. The last piece was definitely a highlight of the entire performance, and I know that many might think I am saying this because of the unexpected MIA-hip hop performance that was randomly embedded in the dance, but because the concept of forming a relationship between the fashion industry and insects; two completely opposing forces of nature to fuse together made an interesting relationship occur. I think that the idea that fashion icons sometimes hold qualities that can even remotely relate them to seeming like an insect almost makes sense to me in a sophisticated way that I cannot explain. It was truly exceptional work, and I am hoping to see more works like "Megalopolis" again in the future.

And now it's time for bed! Or, an episode of Breaking Bad....
